The Center for Drama and Directing was founded in 1998 by Mikhail Roschin and Alexei Kazantsev to become the first Moscow theater to produce work by a whole new generation of up-and-coming Russian directors, playwrights, and actors.
Nowadays, The Center for Drama and Directing in Moscow is a newly regenerated space supporting the work of young theater makers, experimental projects, and collaborations between masters and students.
The Center’s Artistic Director, Vladimir Pankov, is the founder of SounDrama Studio, a team of theater practitioners producing the work in a unique genre of ‘soundrama’ since 2003. SounDrama productions have been performed at multiple festivals across Europe and internationally, including Edinburgh Festival, Festival de Liège, Sibiu, and many others. SounDrama has collaborated with theaters worldwide, such as Theatre de la Ville, Theatre Vide-Lausanne, Studio Six New York, Janka Kupala National Theatre, Ilkhom Theatre and etc.
